86 87 93 mutt of a dime project

well i tyried to start one of these build threads before and i'm just not good with the pictures but i promise to try and keep up. more or less in the middle of things right now but i will get some pictures and post what i got going on

this is some of what i started with

so as the story goes I had a co-worker tell me he had a friend that had a bag-ready frame fror an s10 but thats all it was. no body, no motor, no bags, etc. so I found the grey 86 on craiglist for $300. so I call the guy he says he'll give me the grey truck (ran just fine when we pulled on the trailer) and the Bleu/silver 84 cab for $100 bucks so i bought it. well every peaice of sheetmetal was trash. so i gave the bed away scrapped the cab and front end. then we had a 93 ext. at work that had a cracked block and was just setting so i nabbed the bed and some wiring and sold some parts for cash. oh and the guy with the frame still won't come up off it so I'm just gonna work with what i got. I will try to keep this in order of how i went about it . can't promise anything though

$100 bux is a hell of a deal. That second cab looks pretty straight, is it in good condition?

Dime doors shouldnt be that hard or expensive to find, can you get any other parts from that white 4x4?

well i work at a body shop so that makes life a little easier tooo. the white truck is just about ready for junk

started out shaving this just the squirter

and bought these cause i got them for like half price

oh and also got a new impact strip and valance for the front bumper that was old and rusted but polished up nice have pics soon

just some more stuff i got pretty good deals on, ballin on a budget. lol. got these from Matt down calvert county, painted the cups one color of the two tone the truck will be

got this with the white 93 polished it up (cleaned up good) but then it got dust on it from being around the shop the impact strip and the lower valnve are new

Any new updates?

not yet still waiting on the guy to finish the firewall, not really tubbing it cause i want it to look stock so a lot of cutting and peicing back together. once thats done i'm trying to paint the firewall and undercoat the cab

got a grille for fathers day. i'll post pics after i paint it

kewl kewl man im sure it will look good im workin on tryin ta get some stuff done im like super tight budget so lol little by little ya know my next project if i can get some help is a 5 spd swap i miss drivin a stick.

keep up with the updates i love seein a pc come together i read alot of builds on s10 forums readin a decent canadian build right now lol

i don't relly know much on that bud. but I know a guy down the road from me has a shop called a-1 transmissions ask for danny. its in pasadena

well about to call it quits, can't deal with all the shit thats going on and this build is kinda my last priority behind kids house wife bils and so on. we'll see

well to update things bought a nother truck just for the frame. still no progress on the cab... new truck came with already notched, bridged, and four linked frame so i can junk the old pos frame that we were gonna salvage by balkhalfing. also has 8 gal. tank, 2 viairs (400/480) big ass switchbox. extra bags and fittings. guess we'll see what this year has in store. gonna try and finish up mud work on hood and fender and get in primer just to do something

I understand... progress is always slow, but its better then nothing!

well i'm gonna post to keep things alive, got risd of most of the 87 donor truck. 93 ext cab went to a new owner also (guy i work with) got the fender sand blasted mudded up and primered (i'll get pics) oh kinds been messin with the jimmy. I put ss style mirrors on that i got on ebay that i heard about through s10forum

well started on the headliner the other day i'm futher than these pics show but this is all i got right now
