Thinking about trading in the daily... Empty Thinking about trading in the daily...

Post by DowntimeDesigns Tue Apr 20, 2010 7:46 pm

As some of you guys know my daily is an 05 GMC Canyon reg. cab (yellow). Dropped 3/4 on some 20" wheels. I have been going back and forth about whether I want to sell it/trade it in or just keep it as the daily.

To be honest, I'm just tired of NO luxury at all. I can deal with no power windows/locks, but I can't even lean my damn seat backwards! Plus with it being stick, I can't carry more then one person at a time and its just starting to get old. Don't get me wrong, I love my static dropped mini (mid-size). Its just getting to the point where I would like to hit a bump in the road and not almost send my head through the roof.

Looking at a Lincoln Zephyr or MKZ (same car just only used the Zephyr moniker for one year).

Thoughts?

as cool as it is to have a second truck of the same kind as a daily, I totally see your justification. I say go for it. You dont have to be cool in your daily.

I don't have a mini daily, nor do I have a truck daily lol. Get yourself something comfortable and practical. Heck, even my Sentra is becoming not so practical for me. Just make sure you keep the "minis" plate lol.

the mkz are nice cars. but are they like the LS, a jag wrapped in ford parts, or are they entirely a ford product?

All Ford... Nothing special, essentially its a Fusion with nicer body panels and a more powerful motor...

Car was nice, but might be a little too 'old man' for me. Its definitely stylish exterior, but the interior is bland. I like the heated leather seats and the sunroof, but am gonna keep the search on. I don't NEED to buy a car right away, so I'm shopping around a lil bit.

Looking at a few different options.

Cadillac CTS
Infiniti G35 Sedan
BMW 3 Series
Nissan Altima Coupe
Honda Accord Coupe

a few others...

i've had quite a few dailys - it was cool to have the same truck as a daily (even though my daily s10 was just a zq8, not lowered or anything) but i just got to cramped up driving a small truck every day (plus a s10 can't really haul anything).

got a 97 silverado, loved the truck - just wanted something new.

march 09 i bought a 09 silverado with all the bells and whistles, love driving it daily. having that luxury feeling everyday is nice.

definately do you shopping, don't settle for something you're not comfortable with.

i'd sell your daily outright, probably walk away with more money then a trade in.

Yeah, I thought about that and now I'm selling the daily this week and with any luck picking up the new whip next weekend in Virginia. I already have a buyer for the Canyon and SHE is hopefully finalizing her loan Tomorrow and it will be sold by Wednesday.

I'm planning on picking up a 2006 Infiniti G35x Sedan. Test drove it Saturday and LOVED IT!!!!!!! Was planning on taking it home that day, but went to start it again and for some reason it didn't start. I don't believe in signs or omens or anything, but it was just pure bad luck. The dealer said it had something to do with the 'Intelligent Key' not being programmed.

I don't know if thats true or bullshit or what, but they are taking it to Infinity today to have it looked at and I'm supposed to go back next weekend to pick it up.
