No interest?!?

I'm starting to wonder why the hell I put all the time, effort and money into Maryland Minis! It seems that the forum is dead, there is no interest in the meet and no one really gives a fuck.

Guys, I really need your help!!!! I need you to start posting, and to tell your friends and get the word out about the website, about the meets and about the organization in general. I mean hell, there are plenty of topics to throw down and b.s. about. Maybe something inspired you on SSM or something, post it up on here and let people see. Maybe something happened when working on the truck, and you have a question, post it up...

We have some of the cleanest, nicest trucks around, but we don't have a single decent size mini-truck show in the state! I'm trying to start something with these Meets and hopefully grow, but no one seems interested.

So whats up guys? Should I just scrap the whole thing?

i dont think your wasting your time. i think this is a good thing. i dont really have anything like this down where i live. its good to have everyone get together to hang out and chill with the same interests. all i have is a bunch of imports here and its nice to chill with other mini truckers once in a while. if everyone helped spread the word about md minis, i kno that it will grow

Just as with anything else, it takes time to grow and get bigger and have more people involved. The problem is that there are only so many Maryland Minitruckers that are internet savvy and like to play on forums all the time.

If you got a show together and made it happen it would really get people involved at that point. it is just like starting a car/truck club. It is a lot of work. But if you build it, they will come.

Do you want me to post pics of my stuff coming from downunder. That should bring a lot of people......HAHAHA

It just takes time. Later this week I will be starting one or two project threads when my parts show up from AVS.

Well as soon as it gets here (April 20th eta) I will. It's sitting at X-ray in customs in Long Beach right now.

dont give up yet matt i have been telling tons of people who are into trucks and lowriders to check it out it will just take time and im sure everyone has been out doing stuff do to the nicer weather

I love the Maryland Minis idea and think it has a ton of potential. The ball is in motion and rolling and its gaining momentum. These things take time. Keep up the good work

^^^ I agree with Kenny , I think it's been slow because everyone has been outside enjoying warm weather for a change. don't worry I think the scene around here will grow again, hell I might even start taking my old ass to some shows this year!

Speaking of promoting the site... I saw you yesterday on 702! I was in my Sentra though so I didn't wave, but I got a picture. The license plate gave you away lol.

Yeah it is. That's how I knew it was your truck. I saw the truck from behind on 695 and knew it wasn't stock due to the height and then I got closer and saw the tag lol.

I need to do some more work to it to get it lower and would like to get new wheels, but it works for now.

I work right in Overlea, and am out that way at least once a week usually...

We need to attend all of the local shows possible and pass out flyers to everybody who will take one. I didn't know about MD MINIS until I spotted you guys at Carlisle Truck Nats. We need to advertise out in the streets. I just told a buddy of mine who has a lot of friends in the car culture. If he gets involved (and he wants to) that will open up another avenue to possible new members. Don't give up just yet.

I attend as many as possible, but often most weekends are spent at the larger, national shows. Plus everything that gets designed and printed (whether it be shirts or business cards or fliers or whatever) comes straight out of my pocket. When I did the first run of fliers I was lucky enough to have a few people donate to help offset the cost but its still costing me.

I've been doing this a long time and have a LOT of friends that are in the scene all over the East Coast, but I'm just trying to get the word out to other local truck guys. I don't mind tuners or other guys hanging out at meets (as long as they are cool and respectful), but I want this to be a source of information and community for those of us that like to lay our vehicles on the ground.

Let me think on this for a little bit to see if I can come up with some other ideas.
